As a company, Nextview aims to inspire and use its business as a force for good. Born out of the initiative from one of our own employees, it was turned into a much bigger vehicle: DesignWeek@School Foundation. This foundation has set itself the ambitious goal of training 100,000 children in the use of 21st century skills. Cooperating with primary schools throughout The Netherlands, the foundation turns schools into centers of robotics, prototyping and creative design, coached by technical stewards from Nextview and other associated companies.
The first DesignWeek@School project
The first school to participate was De Koningslinde in Vught. Our goal was to teach all 250 kids 21st century skills. During a very interactive week they were introduced to the IT workfield and the possibilities of modern technology. Numerous experts of Nextview have helped to educate the children and support them with their work during the entire week. We also welcomed the kids into our Design Thinking Center.
Using our expertise to teach children 21 first century skills
We think it’s very important to use our expertise to teach children new, relevant skills. Our ambition is to continue kick-starting the children’s technology knowledge at as many elementary schools as possible. With this, we bring knowledge and the inclusion of 21st century skills into their regular curriculum.
