Salesforce Winter '24 Release
Exploring the Salesforce Winter '24 Release for Manufacturing Cloud
The Salesforce Summer '24 Release is bringing some great new features to Manufacturing Cloud. Mille Bonekamp, Domain Lead Service Cloud for the Manufacturing Industry - Nextview, loves to explain all about it!
Track the Stakeholders in an Asset’s Lifecycle
The latest Salesforce Winter Release brings an exciting feature for users of Manufacturing Cloud. Now, you can comprehensively track the stakeholders involved in an asset's lifecycle. This means you have the ability to connect the assets your company manufactures, ships, and sells with all the relevant parties.
You can create Asset Account Participant records to associate an asset with various accounts, like the financier, supplier, and owner. Similarly, Asset Contact Participant records let you link an asset to individual contacts such as a sales executive, a technician, or a service manager.
This update is specifically for those using Lightning Experience within the Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions that have Manufacturing Cloud enabled.
To use this feature, you should have either the Claims Management Foundation or the Service Console for Manufacturing permission set.
To get started, simply go to the App Launcher, look for Asset Account Participants or Asset Contact Participants, then add new records by clicking 'New' and filling in the necessary information. This streamlined process ensures all stakeholders connected to an asset are just a few clicks away.
Get Visibility Into Your Manufacturing Fleet Operations
Salesforce's Winter Release for Manufacturing Cloud now offers better visibility and tracking for your fleet operations. With the new Fleet Management features, manufacturers can monitor various assets — whether it's mobile equipment, stationary systems, or tools — right within Manufacturing Cloud.
The new feature allows you to log comprehensive details about your fleet assets, including how and when they are used, their current status within the fleet, and their induction date into the fleet system. It also provides the ability to keep track of all the key figures managing different fleet lifecycle stages, such as maintenance and operations managers.
This enhancement is available in Lightning Experience across Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions for those with Manufacturing Cloud.
Users will need the Fleet Management permission set to access these new capabilities.
To implement this feature, the enableFleetManagement Metadata API should be used, enabling the incorporation of Fleet, Fleet Asset, and Fleet Participant objects into your organization's system. This step is crucial for streamlining your fleet oversight and management processes.
Automation of Warranty Claims Adjudication
Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud's new update revolutionizes how businesses handle warranty claims through an automated adjudication process. This powerful feature enhances the accuracy of adjudications, lightens the workload for warranty teams, and minimizes the chance of subjective decision-making.
By leveraging the Business Rules Engine, warranty teams can now craft comprehensive and adaptable rules to scrutinize warranty claims efficiently. The integration of the Context Service further smooths out the process, ensuring warranty data is easily shared and utilized during adjudication.
The ability to design complex, extensible business rules means warranty coverages for defective products are verified more thoroughly. It also ensures that claim payment details are checked for eligibility with precision. This is achieved by using the Claims Validation business element to confirm that all parts repaired or replaced under a claim are indeed covered by the warranty.
Furthermore, the update introduces enhanced flexibility in creating adjudication rules. Warranty administrators can now tap into predefined Claim Details context definitions within the Business Rules Engine, utilizing context tags to draft business rules that are not only more flexible but also eliminate redundant inputs and boost process efficiency.
This streamlined approach to warranty claims adjudication promises to save time, reduce errors, and provide a more transparent claims process for both manufacturers and their customers.
