Transforming Business Processes for Mensch und Maschine with MuleSoft and Salesforce
Mensch und Maschine Software SE (MuM), founded in 1984, is a global leader in CAD/CAM/CAE and BIM solutions. With 75 locations worldwide, MuM supports industries such as engineering, construction, and infrastructure. Since 2011, MuM has further strengthened its market position by reselling licenses for a global leader in 3D design software.
Nextview Consulting partnered with MuM to implement a future-proof system landscape using MuleSoft and Salesforce. The solution included Salesforce Sales Cloud, enhanced by an integrated training academy, automated asset management, and seamless project service integration. Standardised processes, tailored to MuM’s specific requirements and aligned with industry standards, reduced manual effort and streamlined workflows. Over the course of two years, multiple successful go-lives were delivered, supported by a dedicated core team and continuous refinement through stakeholder engagement and feature demonstrations.
Preparing for the Next Phase of Growth
Mensch und Maschine’s ERP and CRM systems were nearing end-of-life, creating a clear opportunity to modernize and strengthen their operational foundation. By replacing legacy platforms, the organization could streamline Quote-to-Order workflows, improve reporting and analytics, and better support renewal acceptance ratios.
There was also an opportunity to enhance user adoption by simplifying processes and aligning systems more closely with how teams work today. With improved visibility across data and performance, Mensch und Maschine could further elevate customer satisfaction and support more informed decision-making.
To ensure the business was equipped for continued efficiency and growth, a strategic systems transformation became the logical next step and that’s where Nextview stepped in.
From Legacy Complexity to a Unified Foundation
Together, we set out to strengthen and modernise the existing system landscape to support the next phase of growth.
With legacy systems in place and continued expansion through M&A, there was a clear opportunity to further harmonise processes and enhance partner commissioning structures. Over time, workflows had evolved across countries, creating a diverse operating model that reflected local requirements.
So, we focused on enabling greater alignment and efficiency:
System Modernisation: Transitioning from legacy systems to a more streamlined and future-ready foundation.
Process Harmonisation: Bringing greater consistency to processes shaped by M&A and evolving partner models.
Workflow Optimisation: Aligning country-specific approaches into a more unified and scalable framework.
Delivering Measurable Progress
The collaboration delivered clear and measurable outcomes.
The organisation demonstrated swift adaptation to external, partner-imposed requirements while successfully retiring legacy custom applications through Salesforce platform capabilities. Core systems were replaced seamlessly, without downtime, ensuring business continuity throughout the transition.
Automation reduced manual effort in order and renewal management, strengthening collaboration and supporting user adoption. At the same time, a strong team spirit emerged, with challenges addressed collectively and customer satisfaction metrics continuing to improve.
